Betting Rules

These Betting Rules govern all wagers placed at smash.casino — sportsbook, pre-match and in-play. They are part of and supplement our Terms & Conditions. By placing a bet you confirm you have read, understood and accepted these Rules. They apply to all Canadian players across every province. Where a sport-specific rule conflicts with a general rule, the sport-specific rule applies. Where these Rules conflict with the published Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions take precedence.

1. General Rules

1.1 Eligibility

  • You must be a registered Smash Casino Account holder, fully verified (KYC) and aged 18+ (19+ in ON, BC, NB, NS, NL, PE, MB, YT, NT, NU).
  • Only one Account per person, household, IP address and device.
  • Bets may only be placed with cleared funds in your Account — no credit betting.
  • You must be physically located in a permitted jurisdiction at the time the bet is placed.

1.2 Bet Acceptance

A bet is only valid once it appears in the Bet History section of your Account with a unique reference ID and shows the status "Accepted". The on-screen confirmation overrides any betslip screenshot or printout. Smash Casino may refuse, partially accept or limit bets at its sole discretion, especially where odds errors, suspicious patterns, market liquidity or stake limits are involved. A bet placed but not displayed in Bet History within 60 seconds should be assumed not accepted — contact support.

1.3 Maximum Win Limits

The default maximum win per day per Account is C$500,000 (or equivalent in the Account currency). Sport-specific caps may be lower (see the sport-specific sections below). Wins above the cap are voided and the stake refunded.

1.4 Currency

Stakes and payouts are denominated in your Account currency (default CAD for Canadian players). Currency conversion uses Smash Casino's published mid-market rate at the moment of settlement.

1.5 Time Reference

All times shown are UTC unless otherwise stated. Event start times are indicative — settlement is based on the actual start as recorded by the official competition body.

2. Bet Types

TypeDescription
SingleOne selection. Must win to return.
Multiple / AccumulatorTwo or more selections combined. All must win.
SystemCombinations of accumulators (e.g. Trixie, Yankee, Lucky 15).
Live / In-PlayPlaced while the event is in progress; odds change in real time.
Each-WayHalf stake on Win, half on Place (horse racing, golf majors).
Cash OutAvailable where shown; lets you settle a bet early at a quoted price.

3. Settlement

Bets are settled based on the official results published by the recognised governing body for each sport (FIFA, UEFA, NHL, NBA, ATP, PGA Tour, IIHF, etc.). Settlement is normally complete within 30 minutes of event end, though complex prop markets can take longer. If results are corrected by the governing body within 48 hours of the original publication, we re-settle accordingly.

Result corrections

After 48 hours from settlement, results are considered final and will not be reopened, even if the governing body subsequently corrects them.

4. Void Bets

A bet is voided (stake refunded) in the situations below. In a multiple, voiding applies only to the affected selection — the rest of the multiple remains in play with the void selection treated as odds of 1.00.

  • Event abandoned and not completed within 48 hours (sport-specific exceptions below).
  • A player listed as starting did not start (for player props).
  • Match venue changed (for some sports — see sport sections).
  • Officially declared no-contest.
  • Both finalists / participants do not compete.
  • Obvious palpable odds error (see section 5).

5. Palpable Errors

A "palpable error" is an obvious mistake in the offered odds — for example, odds visibly inverted (favourite priced at 10.00 with the underdog at 1.10), or odds off by a decimal place. Where Smash Casino reasonably determines that a bet was placed on palpably erroneous odds, the bet is void and the stake refunded. Common causes include:

  • Typographic errors during manual price entry.
  • System or feed errors from data providers.
  • Odds that materially differ from the market average at the time of placement.

⚠️ Palpable-error voids are not retroactively rejected once a withdrawal has been processed and funds have left the Account. Players who suspect they have benefited from a palpable error should not attempt to withdraw before the void is processed.

6. Dead Heat Rules

Where two or more selections tie for the position bet on, dead-heat rules apply: the stake is divided by the number of tied participants, multiplied by the original odds, and returned alongside the unstaked portion.

Example: C$10 at 5.00 on a 2-way dead heat returns C$25 — that is C$10 ÷ 2 × 5.00 (winning portion) = C$25. The C$5 unstaked portion is treated as a loss.

Dead-heat rules apply primarily to horse racing, golf and outright markets.

7. Sport-Specific Rules

Where a sport-specific rule below conflicts with the general rules above, the sport-specific rule applies. Other sports not listed here follow the general rules and the published governing body's regulations.

⚽ Football / Soccer

  • Settlement based on 90 minutes + injury time, unless the market clearly states "including extra time" or "to qualify".
  • Abandoned match: bets void if not completed within 48 hours. Pre-match goalscorer bets settled if the player played any part.
  • Yellow / red cards: bookings count only — yellow = 1, red = 2 (max 2 per player).

🏒 Ice Hockey (NHL & International)

  • Settlement includes overtime and shootouts unless the market specifies "60 minutes / regulation time".
  • Shootout winner counts as 1 goal for the team on moneyline; individual shootout goals do not count for player props.
  • Postponed games: bets stand if rescheduled within 48 hours.

🏀 Basketball (NBA, WNBA, NCAA)

  • Settlement includes overtime unless the market specifies "regulation only".
  • Game must be played to its scheduled length.
  • Player props: player must take the court for at least 1 minute; otherwise void.

🎾 Tennis

  • Match must be completed for moneyline bets. Retirement before completion = all match bets void unless settled by another rule (e.g. "completed sets" markets).
  • Walkover = all bets void.
  • Set-betting: a player must start the relevant set for that-set bets to stand.

⚾ Baseball (MLB)

  • Game must reach 5 innings (4.5 if home team leading) for run-line, total-runs and moneyline.
  • Listed pitcher rule: bets void if either listed starter does not start, unless "Action" specified.

🏇 Horse Racing

  • Non-runner: stake refunded for win/place; Rule 4 deductions apply to the remaining runners' prices.
  • Dead-heat: dead-heat rule above.
  • Each-way places paid as published per race.

🥊 MMA & Boxing

  • Fight must take place on the scheduled card date or within 48 hours.
  • Draws settled per published moneyline / draw market; if no draw market exists, draw = void.
  • "Method of victory" requires the official decision recorded by the sanctioning body.

🎮 Esports

  • Settled by the official tournament result.
  • Map/round bets require the map/round to be played to completion.
  • Roster changes after odds posted: bets stand unless a listed starter is replaced — then bets void.

8. In-Play / Live Betting

  • Odds change in real time. Smash Casino is not responsible for delayed or interrupted live feeds, nor for losses caused by latency between your device and our servers.
  • A bet is only valid once it shows "Accepted" — pre-acceptance odds shifts may cause the bet to be rejected.
  • If a market is opened in error after an event has already concluded, all bets on it are void.
  • In-play bets placed during a goal, point, score or other material event may be subject to a price-update delay; bets may be re-priced or rejected during this window.

9. Cash Out

  • Cash-out values are calculated in real time and are offered at Smash Casino's sole discretion. We may suspend or withdraw cash-out at any time.
  • A cash-out request is only confirmed once the on-screen prompt shows the cash-out total and a confirmation message.
  • Where odds move while you are accepting, the cash-out may be rejected — you can simply retry at the new price.

10. Disputes

Disputes about bet settlement must be raised via [email protected] within 30 days of the original settlement. After 30 days the settlement is considered final. Smash Casino's records — including the bet-history database and recorded support transcripts — are conclusive evidence in any dispute, subject to the player's right to escalate to the licensing authority (Anjouan ALSI) or, where applicable, to a recognised alternative dispute resolution body. See clause 20 of the Terms & Conditions for the full escalation path.

11. Changes to These Rules

Material changes are notified by email and an on-site banner 7 days before they take effect. Bets placed before the change date are settled under the rules in force at the time the bet was accepted — never retroactively.
